Robotic systems

6 points * 39 lecture hours and 39 tutorial/laboratory hours * Second semester * Gippsland * Prerequisites: completion of the 2nd year subjects

Introduction; robot applications; robots general structure; end-effector's design and job requirements; economic justification of utilising robots; robot selection process. Laboratory sessions will be conducted to ensure hands-on experience in the robotics field. Site visits to manufacturing plants where robots are heavily used.

Assessment

Examination: 50% * Assignments and laboratory: 50%
