Electrical design II

Thermal analysis of electrical systems including heat generation, storage, transfer and dissipation processes. Design of DC voltage and current coils considering the interaction of specifications, material properties, design equations and key assumptions. Analysis of iron-cored/air-gap chokes using theoretical and imperial design approaches. Construction of electronic circuits using soldering, wirewrapping and breadboarding techniques. Use of PC software for schematic capture of circuit design.

Assessment

Three laboratory sessions: 20% * Assignments: 80%
