Graphical user interface environment (15%): introduction to Windows; file management; multi-tasking; use of clipboard; communication between network machines. Desktop publishing (30%): introduction to high level DTP packages; text manipulation; tables; paragraph styles; use of graphics; uses of object linking and embedding. Creation of engineering style reports including text, graphics and diagrams. Spreadsheets (30%): fundamentals of advanced spreadsheets; data manipulation, graphing data; use of wizards; relative/absolute addressing; use of functions; application of spreadsheets to engineering problems. Databases (25%): fundamentals of relational databases; indexing; forms; reports; templates; query design; user interaction; use as an engineering analysis tool.
