Statistical inference. Concepts of hypothesis test. Test about the mean of one population. Test of equality of mean of two independent populations. Test of equality of mean of more than two independent populations. Use of probability paper to test assumptions for tests about the mean. Test equality of two dependent populations. Tolerance limits. Distribution free tolerance limits. Probability modelling. Properties of exponential, gamma. Weibull, log normal and Poisson distribution. Fitting distributions to data. Management of quality. Models and assumptions. Process capability. Control charting. Pre-control. Confidence. Acceptance sampling - OC curve. Standard plans and procedures. Review of impact of statistical quality control on quality management.
