Computer interfacing. The programmable logic controller, its facilities and limitations. Internal operation of the CPU and I/O modules. Introduction to various aspects of analog, digital and hybrid electronics systems supported by transducers and actuators covering a diverse range of engineering applications implemented by the use of programmable logic controllers. Analog to digital converters and their usage in interfacing analog signals to digital systems. The properties and characteristics of various types of transducers and actuators.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 50% * Practical work/Laboratory work/Assignments: 50%
