Applied mechanics 2

Dynamics: definition of kinematics and kinetics, units. Kinetics of particles: rectilinear and curvilinear motion. Kinetics of particles: Newton's second law, concept of dynamic equilibrium (D'Alembert's principle); free body diagrams, friction force, non-uniform acceleration, kinematics of particles; rectilinear and curvilinear motion. Dynamics of rigid bodies: moment of inertia, linear and angular momentum, impulse and impact. Energy, work and power. Kinematics and kinetic analysis of simple mechanisms.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 60% * Laboratory work, class tests, problem solving: 40%
