Program development, program testing, documentation. Further features of a language: global and local variables, parameters, use of arrays and records, files, introduction to graphics. Operating systems: directory structures, editors, batch files. Packages: an introduction to the use of wordprocessing, spreadsheet, database communications and graphics packages. Overview of scientific languages: BASIC, Fortran 77, comparison with Pascal. CAD; introduction to computer-aided drafting.
