Introduction to the microcomputer: keyboard skills and their development, use and function of peripheral input and output devices. Introduction to an operating system: purpose, commands, files, directories, disk management. Network fundamentals. Program design: introduction to software engineering, concept of the algorithmic structure of a problem, control elements, structured English, flow charts, pseudo code, modular design. Introduction to a modern programming language: Pascal.
