Development of industrial networks: system planning, reference circuits. Signal regeneration: regenerative repeaters, timing recovery, transmit and receive filters, line equalisation. Detection techniques: optimum detection, coherent and non-coherent detectors. Shielding, grounding and protection of systems: sources of interference, electromagnetic compatibility, protection.
