Three-phase transformers; connections and applications, harmonics, parallel operation. Three-phase induction motors; analysis, performance, testing and control. Single-phase induction motors. Linear motors. Stepper motors. Three-phase synchronous machines; cylindrical-rotor and salient-pole, prediction of performance, transient stability.

Assessment

Examination (3 hours): 70% * Class tests: 10% * Assignments/Laboratory: 20%
