Frequency response analysis: control system analysis in the frequency domain, polar plots, Bode diagram, Nyquist stability criterion. System modelling using frequency response method. Compensator design. PID controllers. State space analysis: solutions of state equations. State transition matrix, controllability and observability. Pole placement controller design. Robust controller design. Introduction to discrete-time systems: z-transforms, time response, stability.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 60% * Practical/Laboratory work: 40%
