Biomechanical properties of bone, cartilage, muscle ligaments, tendons and human joints. Introduction to biomechanics (kinesiology) - statics, kinematics, dynamics. Intersegment load actions in the body. Human joint movements. Muscle and tissue mechanics. Introduction to gait. Instrumentation; force and motion measurement in gait analysis. Human joint fluids lubrication and wear. Applied biomechanics. Investigation of existing systems. Internal, external prostheses. Instrumentation and equipment. Orthoses.
