The connectionist paradigm of computation has enjoyed a renewed interest in recent times and has attracted the attention of computer scientists, engineers, cognitive psychologists and neurophysiologists. Neural computing has applications in the areas of image processing, robot vision and control, speech analysis, pattern recognition, language understanding and many others. This subject examines the field of neural computing from the conceptional, implementation, application and neurobiological correlates viewpoints.
