Electrical power II

Introduction to power electronics, switching devices; characteristics of SCRs, GTOs, IGBTs; converters and rectification principles; pulse width modulation and drives; three-phase transformers; introduction to DC series and shunt machines; introduction to synchronous machines; programmed logical controllers.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 80% * Laboratory work: 20%
