Switching and signalling

Introduction to telecommunication network hierarchical configuration; principles of multiplexing; circuit switching - space switching, time division switching; packet switching; digital switch architecture; performance analysis - blocking probability, throughput, utilisation; numbering systems; protocols and signalling systems, common channel signalling.
