Factors in choice of system. Review of available systems: floating production/drill ship, moored systems, jack-up platforms, semi-submersibles, tension leg systems. Installation and towing. Technical aspects of systems: hydrodynamic response of floating and tethered systems, moorings, dynamic positioning, structural design, fatigue analysis, geotechnical design of tether anchorages and jack-up foundations.
