Overview of risks, losses and hazards in development and production. Implications of Piper Alpha and Alexander Keilland disasters. Risk analysis methods: fault tree and event tree, HAZOP studies, vessel collision. Structural reliability: systems, redundancy, environmental and operating loads, resistance assessment, residual strength after damage. Time dependent reliability: Bayesian updating, corrosion, fatigue life, remaining life. Inspection and monitoring.

Assessment
