Water treatment; unit processes for various treatments, plant design. Wastewater treatment; unit processes for treatment of wastewater, aspects of plant design. Water supply design; planning and evaluating alternative sources of water supply. Solid waste disposal; characteristics, handling, landfill, incineration, environmental control. Atmospheric modelling: plume behaviour and regional models. Water-quality modelling: parameters, inputs, outputs, conservative modelling, lakes and streams. Environmental assessment.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 80% * Practical work: 20%
