The lectures are designed to develop and extend knowledge of the concepts of modern chemistry in directions appropriate to chemical engineers. The associated practical course consists of five hours of laboratory work per week for seven weeks. For timetable reasons, it is difficult to get common times for tutorials and so these are arranged by individual lecturers. On average, one hour per week could be taken up with tutorials and consultations with lecturers.
