This subject is designed for those who have not taken VCE Chemistry. For such students it is a prerequisite for CHM1710 (Chemistry I), and its primary aim is to prepare students for that subject; however, it also covers some necessary background for CHM1722 (Chemistry II). Assessment is by a mixture of a written examination, practical work, assignments, oral contributions in class and the linking of theory to practical work. Students must pass the practical component of the course to pass the subject.
