Analysis of chemical processing systems I

Objectives The student is expected to acquire an improved understanding and further knowledge of the mass balance for non-reacting and reacting systems. The student is also expected to acquire a basic knowledge and understanding of the design and analysis of the idealised version of reactors important to the process industries.

Synopsis Steady and unsteady mass balances for non-reacting and reacting systems. Analysis of ideal reactors - batch, semi-batch, continuous stirred tank, plug-flow tubular.
