The Monash Frankston English Language Centre was established to provide overseas students with English language tuition prior to their entry into formal university courses on the Peninsula campus. The centre not only conducts ELICOS courses but provides special short courses for international students and language upgrading for special students. Students from the School of Early Childhood and Primary Education who are specialising in TESOL undertake intensive language work with MFELC students.
The centre is managed by a committee of the School of Early Childhood and Primary Education. Mr Charles Meyer is the director of the centre.
