Teaching about moral and social issues raises many conceptual and ethical problems. This subject is designed to examine a range of such topics. Theories about the development of moral reasoning, the justification of evaluative assumptions, relations between moral and religious education, the possibility of a neutral approach in teaching, and the idea of values clarification will be discussed during the subject. We will look not only at moral education understood as a subject in its own right, but also at the presence of value questions across the curriculum.
