This subject aims to introduce students to ways of seeing education sociologically. The subject will consider the changing character of Australian education and Australian society. Major sociological approaches to the study of education will be discussed. This subject will be useful for students working in primary, secondary, tertiary and other professional education and training who wish to extend their understanding of education and society as a basis for policy and practice.
