Study Asia in Asia

Summer semester * China or Indonesia
The subject is offered as an intensive immersion program on location in China or Indonesia. The subject is designed for primary, secondary and tertiary teachers with an interest in Asian cultures (music, drama, art, geography, literature, economics, history, social education, language). The first week consists of lectures, consultations and planning with staff from Monash and the host university to assist students in identifying topics of study and methodologies. The next two weeks involve fieldwork and the collecting and/or creating of materials suitable for use in the classroom. The final week is spent on preliminary development of a curriculum unit. Throughout the four-week period, students have the support of individual tutors.
