Dr G Tsolidis

First semester * Clayton

Within this subject, the role schooling plays both in the construction and reconstruction of gender is explored. As a foundation for this exploration, concepts fundamental to feminism are examined. Feminist perspectives on schooling are presented especially as these relate to understanding the problems and creating the solutions. Attention is given to both femininity and masculinity and the ways in which these are created and understood through schooling, particularly curriculum and policy.
