Clinical placement in psychology II

Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: GED1829 * Quota: 20

Students will be required to carry out a minimum of 120 hours client-contact during placement in the general fields of psychological assessment and intervention within a variety of clinical situations under the direct supervision of a psychologist, and a similar number of hours in non-contact activities within the placement setting. The practicum is designed to develop a range of professional skills and to acquaint students with issues of professional ethics and practice in psychology. Students will be required to spend up to four days per week during the November - October period on placement. Total days on placement must be at least 120 over the two placements. In addition to field placement, students will be required to attend weekly meetings with their university supervisors.

Assessment

Written: 60% * Fieldwork/Written case studies and performance in clinical situations: 40%
