The subject is concerned with an advanced study of learning disabilities. Areas covered will include a critical review of basic concepts, definitions and classificatory systems; severe learning disabilities (reading, spelling, written expression and mathematics); developmental disabilities; language learning disabilities; psycho-educational assessment and diagnosis; case studies; instructional planning and interventions; delivery of special education services; current issues, eg controversial therapies.
