Reading subjects in education

Students may only take these subjects in special circumstances when their particular interests cannot be met by any of the regular offerings. The prior permission of the relevant committee must be obtained on the appropriate form which is available from the student inquiry office. For part-time students permission will not be granted before the completion of two subjects. According to the topic taken and the weight of the work involved, reading subjects may be taken either as one subject studied in either the first semester or in the second semester, or as two subjects taken throughout the year. The subjects will take the form of individual reading subjects leading to a written report on a problem in education. Students interested in undertaking a reading subject must consult the relevant group adviser. Each enrolled student will have an approved supervisor.
