Methods and practice of teaching modern languages A

3 hours per week * Full-year subject * Clayton * Prerequisites: Language major

This subject consists of two components: (a) principles of modern language teaching; and (b) one of the following - teaching Chinese (Mandarin), teaching French, teaching German, teaching Indonesian, teaching Italian, teaching Japanese, teaching Korean (not available in 1995), teaching Modern Greek, teaching Spanish. Students must have at least a major sequence in one of the languages listed above and must demonstrate adequate proficiency in spoken and written foreign language skills. Students who are contemplating part-time studies and who will be at that time teaching a language other than those listed above, should consult with the lecturer-in-charge of modern languages.
