This subject aims to introduce students to some of the approaches to research in librarianship and a variety of resources available for research. Students will learn to find information using indexing and abstracting tools, and databases including CD-ROMs microfiches etc. The subject is taught by individual consultations, regular progress reports during semester, group discussions and study guides.
Assessment
Proposal (1000 words): 20% * Essay or equivalent project (6000 words): 80%
