This subject aims to enable students to become fully aware of the role of the library or resource centre within an educational program. Topics covered include library management and administration, and working with children in the selection and use of suitable reading and curriculum materials. The subject includes twenty days practicum to be supervised in a library staffed by a trained, experienced librarian. Under the supervising librarian, students are to participate in all facets of the administration and organisation of a library. The subject is taught by group briefing, study guides and personal consultation and individual supervision in the training school by school library staff.
