This subject aims to develop a greater knowledge and understanding of the application of information technology. Topics covered include the use of computers in indexing, centralised networks, the storage and dissemination of bibliographic information in schools, in information retrieval systems and in routine library housekeeping operations. The subject is taught by lectures, seminars and practical sessions.
Assessment
One practical: 30% * One semester project: 70%
