Curriculum studies: mathematics secondary I

Subject value 1.0 * 3 hours per weekend school * Full-year subject * Gippsland/Distance * Prerequisites: second-year BEd

This subject aims to provide adequate preparation for teaching mathematics in the post-primary school, years 7 to 10. The emphasis will be on working on a cooperative way (a) to develop subjects of work, and evaluate and trial these as a group; (b) to evaluate teaching materials; (c) to teach and team teach lessons in a peer-group situation; (d) to research and report on a negotiated curriculum area, eg mixed-ability teaching, computers, problem solving, testing, homework. The subject is taught by lectures and workshops.
