Curriculum studies: advanced teaching studies music (II)

Subject value 1.0 * 2 hours per weekend school * First semester * Gippsland/Distance * Prerequisites: DipT or GradDipEd or BTeach

This subject has been designed to prepare teachers in the development and teaching of upper primary music with a particular focus on class music making. Popular music in the classroom, classroom ensembles, contemporary methodologies and improvisatory sound exploration exercises based on methodologies and approaches developed by Paynter, Self, Wishart and others will be considered. The music education heritage of Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze and the current eclectic music curriculum will be discussed.

Biographical statement hurdle requirement. Classroom music material: 50% * Methodology research: 50%
