Subject value 1.0 * First semester * Gippsland/Distance * Prerequisites: DipT or GradDipEd (with Science method) or BTeach
Students will contract to complete no fewer than two and no greater than four optional study modules, which may include the following: (i) the module investigation of an approved topic in science and the development of the topic into a substantial component of a teaching program which takes pupils' individual differences into account; (2) a comparative study of State science curricula within Australia; (3) what research says to the science teacher; (4) investigation of a topic in the history of science; (5) classroom research (module prerequisites: GEC4437). The subject is taught by supervised study of the selected topics. Teleconferencing and e-mail computer conferencing are available as aids to study. Access to a modern computer and modem is an advantage.
