Educational psychology

Subject value 1.0 * First semester * Gippsland/Distance * Prerequisites: DipT or GradDipEd or permission or BTeach

The subject considers the place of particular psychological theories and research in education and their applications in classrooms. Topics covered will include applications of learning theory, the development of self-concept, and thinking about thinking (metacognition). The subject is taught by readings and discussions.

Assessment

Essay: 25% * Practical report: 25% * Examination on prepared topics: 50%
