3 hours per week * Peninsula

Designing investigations in field settings. Examination of various research methodologies (although a number of research methodologies will be examined, eg case study, experimental design, an emphasis on action research); computer and bibliographical search techniques in the selection of literature. Introductory statistical procedures (including topics such as frequency distribution, central tendency, variability, standard scores, correlation and t-test); preparation of a research proposal. Students will be assigned a supervisor who has some expertise in the student's chosen field of research. In the final two weeks of the semester students will present this proposal to the class for group discussion and modification before the special study is undertaken.
