Theory of the effective school and preschool

3 hours per week * Peninsula * First semester

An advanced study of the factors underpinning the development of school excellence and their relationship to organisational management and the decision making processes. Students will consider theoretical issues such as the relationship between organisation effectiveness and education, quality in Australian schooling, school effectiveness and school improvement, school restructuring and the Schools of the Future program. They will also consider practical issues such as leadership in the effective school, school-based decision making, school policy development and staffing issues.

Assessment

Written: 50% * Examinations: 50%
