Seminar: teaching across cultures

3 hours per week * First semester * Peninsula

This subject provides opportunities for students to develop the appropriate knowledge and understandings, techniques and skills, attitudes and values to prepare them for teaching in another cultural environment. In 1995 the subject will focus on teaching in Central Australia. The first part of the subject focuses on Aboriginal culture and communities in the Northern Territory. The second part focuses on the Northern Territory model of bilingual education and the `bush' school curriculum.

Assessment

Seminar presentation: 25% * Written: 75%
