The continuation of individual coursework, with demonstration and tuition by the lecturer-in-charge, in the technical and conceptual areas chosen by the student. Students will be required to interpret originally and investigate independently a personal theme using one or a combination of the materials and processes introduced in the previous subjects, resulting in the development of an individual, well-resolved practical folio which contains (1) original visual images, (2) selective and confident use of skills and techniques. Students will be expected to develop a folio of preliminary material, such as working and finished drawings, including computer-generated images, to accompany the finished works. The subject will include the critical analysis of art theory and practice through lectures and seminars, and excursions to galleries, schools and regional centres where appropriate.
