Exceptional children

3 hours per week * First semester * Peninsula

The purpose of this subject is to prepare students to integrate exceptional children into preschool and school programs. Topics will include an overview of the causes of exceptionality; meeting the needs of children with sensory disabilities; intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities; gifted young children. There will be particular emphasis on issues in integration and the impact on their families of children with special needs.
