Expressive arts 2
3 hours per week * Second semester * Peninsula
This subject will emphasise the importance of providing a range of developmentally appropriate expressive arts experiences (including music, movement, art, drama, dance and puppetry) in early childhood centres and junior primary grades, based on philosophical issues in both early childhood education and art education. The role of the educator as facilitator of children's creative and artistic development and aesthetic appreciation will be addressed. Consideration will be given to the arts and young children with special needs and abilities. Students will gain further skills in developing balanced, integrated programs. Both practical and theoretical sessions will be implemented throughout the semester.
