Studio arts B: painting/printmaking 6
3 hours per week * Second semester * Peninsula
This subject is designed to provide students with practical skills for the general classroom and art specialisation at the primary level. The continuation of individual coursework, with demonstration and tuition by the lecturer-in-charge, in the technical area chosen by each student. Students will be required to interpret originally and investigate independently a personal theme using one or a combination of the materials and processes introduced in the previous units. Students will be expected to continue to develop drawing and design skills, including computer skills which specifically relate to general classroom and art specialist teaching. The subject will include the critical analysis of art education theory and painting/printmaking practice through lectures and seminars, excursions to galleries, schools and regional centres, leading to the development of a specialist art curriculum for primary schools.
