Arts in Australia and Asia 4: humour in the arts of Australia

3 hours per week * First semester * Peninsula

An examination of the impact which humour has had in the development of the arts and culture of Australia. Consideration will be given to the nature of humour and the concept of a sense of humour. The contributions of cartoonists, writers, commentators, comedians, playwrights and satirists will be studied in conjunction with the role of the humorist in a multicultural society.

Assessment

Written: 50% * Practical work: 50%
