Arts in Australia and Asia 3: performing arts of Asia

This subject gives an overview of representative performing arts traditions (dance, music, drama, puppet theatre etc) in East Asia, South East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Emphasis is placed on an understanding of performance traditions within the framework of their historical and cultural context, and the place of traditional arts in modern Asian societies is considered.
