Studio arts 4
3 hours per week * Peninsula * Prerequisites: EDN1525 and EDN1545
Students will have the opportunity to develop conceptual and technical skills in printmaking or sculpture. The following materials and processes will be investigated: freestanding and relief constructions, kinetics, treatment of the sculptural surface, such as painting, staining, glazing; screenprinting and collage on paper, with continued exploration of materials and concepts from the previous subjects. Students will be expected to continue to develop drawing and design expertise, including computer skills. The subject will include research on art theory and practice through lectures and seminars, excursions to galleries and schools, leading to developing strategies and activities for general classroom application.
