Computer studies 3

3 hours per week * First semester * Peninsula * Prerequisites: EDN1265 and EDN1275

This subject continues the development of understanding and technical skill in computer programming. Concepts covered include batch processing, interactive processing; intrinsic functions; user-defined functions; data structures; file structures; sorting techniques; searching techniques. The techniques involved in the development and implementation of structured, modular programs together with related considerations such as screen design, `user friendliness' and documentation.

Examinations: 65% * Practical exercises: 35%
