Language education 1

3 hours per week * Second semester * Peninsula

An introduction to children's language development, the place of language within the school curriculum and the major concepts contained in the English Language Framework P-10. Oracy and its significance will constitute the major focus of the subject. Topics include oracy development in childhood; the significance of talk and speech across the curriculum; children as listeners and learners; the teacher as listener and speaker; teaching implications for furthering children's oral language development.

Assessment

Class test: 40% * Examination 60%
