This subject considers the role played by arts in the wider community. Aspects that form the focus of this subject include using the community gallery, theatre or television studio as a teaching and learning resource; examining literature and plays which reflect the Australian culture; developing ways in which the visual and performing arts and media influence Australian culture; comparing events and characters in Australian history which have been portrayed in literature, arts, radio, film, television and theatre; developing and evaluating educational programs for the arts in the community.
